Xinjiang County is called Jiangzhou State in the ancient time, located in the southwest of Shanxi Province, is a national historical and cultural city. Xinjiang County is in the southwest edge of Linfen basin, the lower reaches of Fenhe River.Lvliang Mountain is due north and Emei Mountain is due south.Fenhe River and Kuaihe River flow through here. Wong Sui Wendi opened three years (AD 583) moved the district government here,for the beginning of Jiangzhou ancient city. Xinjiang since ancient times, the transportation is convenient, small handicraft industry developed.Xinjiang is called the "South Jiang North Dai" and " the transportation hub".The southwest of Shanxi is an important place where the Chinese civilization developed. Xinjiang Is located in border region of Shanxi,Shaanxi and Henan that Xinjiang county can be influenced by different culture.At the same time the Fenhe and Kuaihe flow through here, Fenhe River flows to west into the Yellow River which is the foundation of agricultural development and make traffic convenient. In the pre-Qin period,Jin country is located in Fen Kuai basin. During the Qin and Han Dynasties this place is called Hedong. In the Wei, Jin and the southern and Northern Dynasties, the region became the object of the competition between the opposing political power. In this situation, the urban construction is bound to be greatly affected by the military action. After Sui and Tang Dynasties Xinjiang become local administrative center, Jiangzhou ancient city construction back to track, Jiangzhou also gradually prosperous. Most Xinjiang existing representative ancient architecture basically began to emerge from this point, such as Jiangzhou Yashu, Jiang Shou Ju Garden. Now Jiangzhou ancient city protection situation is not optimistic, the purpose of writing this article is making every effort to recover the original appearance of Jiangzhou ancient city, as a force for the protection of ancient city.This paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is to study the history and geography of the rise and development of the city of Xinjiang. Firstly it's discussed from two aspects of natural and human conditions that the possibility and necessity of the rise of Xinjiang city. Xinjiang front water and with hills on the back.It's pretty well for the construction os city. At the same time by conparison of "Xinjiang" and "Gujiang",it can be understand easily that Fen Kuai River Basin in the pre Qin period held different characteristics of urban construction.The second chapter is about to analyze the city construction situation and characteristics of Qin and Han Dynasty to the Sui Dynasty in xinjiang. The Xinjiang city construction have different fate in different periods because the overall political pattern changes. The Qinhan Dynestys, Xinjiang is located in the capital area, but the city is not large. To the Wei, Jin and southern and Northern Dynasties, the Xinjiang region become opposite regimes for strategic and urban construction mainly to military requirements.The third chapter, it's made clear that the establishment to the boom and decline of the Jiangzhou Ancient City. A stable political environment and the convenience of Fenhe River is the reason of development. Fenhe River's change and the construction of new traffic line is the reason of downfall.The fourth chapter and the fifth chapter, mainly discusses the main architectural features of Xinjiang and the internal spatial structure of the city. It's studied of administrative institutions, educational institutions, schools and temples. And it's analyzed of the characteristics of the representative buildings which have been spread up to now.The sixth chapter, mainly discusses the protection of historical and cultural city of Xinjiang and utilization.For Jiangzhou ancient city protection and development,it's put forwarded about the proposals.
