With the advancement of new curriculum reform, Chinese subject take more concentration on the process of nine-year compulsory education. It is crucial for students’ability, like cultural knowledge quality, moral quality, creation ability, healthy personality and will power. As an indispensable part of teaching activity, composition learning will realize these teaching goals. Composition evaluation is significant in the teaching activities. For a long time, education evaluation has always been considered a tool to judge students’ grade, but it also overpasses the function. Education evaluation can promote students’ learning ability. In the process of teaching, teacher also can play an important role in evaluating students and influence students’ study attitude. Composition evaluation is an important component in Chinese teaching subject, it will affect the effect of the composition teaching, even affect the students’ interest in Chinese learning. Because composition evaluation is uncommon for students’ grade and thinking, more researchers concern it. However, the system of composition evaluation isn’t perfect, it has more questions. Through the questionnaire survey, research on the higher grade of students and teachers behavior of classroom teaching and investigate the situation.Senior student was chosen, because they taking the intermediate level and learning from writing composition, focusing on cultivating the confidence of writing. And the composition of the senior student already became mature, can obviously reflects the evaluation of the status. So, higher grade students as the object of study of the elementary school in this research.There are mainly four parts of this thesis. The first part:elaborating the background, the significance, the status and the ideas in this research. The second part:the related concept definition and theoretical basis. The third part:the result of the investigation and analysis. This paper has a research about the present situation of higher grades composition evaluation. The elementary school students have the lack of writing material and inspiration and language power of expression in the process of writing a composition. In the face of composition evaluation, the attitude of teachers effects the composition evaluation for each student. Now the higher grades of elementary school adopted composition evaluation method. In this paper, the present situation problems are:the evaluation standard positioning vague; Comments at random, no operability; Composition evaluation value the results and ignore the writing process; Evaluation subject is too single; Evaluation focus on horizontal comparison, ignoring longitudinal comparison; Evaluation of timeliness is weak; Evaluation system is imperfect, etc. The fourth part:root cause analysis and improvement strategy. According to the survey, this article discussed from three aspects:teachers, students, and education system and solution strategy to find out the cause of the problem. The strategies are the evaluation content opened; evaluation of language; evaluation standard hierarchical; the diversity of evaluation. These strategies may give a reference to teachers. After the teaching career, I will continue to study composition evaluation, in order to improve students’ composition evaluation.
