Harbin Day Tour Accompanied By Interpretation Practice Report

With the implementation of the Belt and Road initiative,an increasing number of foreigners are attracted to China by its beautiful human landscape and natural scenery.And the booming development of related industries increases the demand for guide interpretation.The guide interpreters are also becoming even more important in this cross-cultural activity.The following report is based on the escort interpretation experience of author s one-day tour in Harbin.The author discusses the difficulties and problems occurred during the interpretation and the solutions towards them from two aspects.On the one hand,the author delves into the difficulties of interpreting tour commentary,including the translation of Chinese idiom,long paragraphs and several sense groups.And the interpretation strategies including free translation,omission and readjustment of word order are summarized according to the analysis.On the other hand,the difficulties when the author interprets proper noun related to the name of local dish,landmark building and historical figures are all analyzed.The interpretation strategies like transliteration,literal translation with explanation and so on are also summarized.By summarizing all these above,the author would like to propose the appropriate translation strategies to achieve the accuracy and intelligibility in further study and practice.
