Looking At Jin Yu's View Of Historical Materials From The "General History Of Northeast China"

Jin Yufu is a famous historian of literature in China,and also the initiator and founder of the northeastern historical research in modern China.He inspired and influenced not only the discipline of northeast China but also the later scholars for his historical thought of truth,application of classics,exhaustive collection,comparison and textual research of historical materials,and his historical view of patriotism.Northeast General History not only is the representative work of Jin Yufu,but the monumental work of research on northeastern history.The content in the book,including collection,sorting and investigation of historical data typically reflects the main aspects of Jin Yufu's historical data view.On the one hand,Jin Yufu's historical data view is traditional,which inherits the method of comprehensive collection and examination of historical materials carried forward by the Qian-jia school.On the other hand,Jin Yufu is influenced by the new historiography to some extent,and embodies the characteristics of the fusion of old and new historiography.This paper discusses that Northeast General History by Jin Yufu occupies an important position in his academic career,and analyses his collection of the literature handed down from ancient times in China,foreign historical documents and resources at full steam,and the critical use of historical data in the book.On the basis of this,the book summarizes connotation of Jin Yufu's historical data view,making up for the past absent research on that aspect.At the same time,the paper also tries to compare Jin Yufu's historical view with that of archaeologists in the late Qing Dynasty and that of scholar Fu Sinian in republic of China and makes objective evaluation on Jin Yufu's historical data view.Finally,the paper discusses influence that Jin Yufu's historical data view had on the research of history of the northeast China and the later scholars.
