Robert Schumann(1810-1856),a well-known “music poet” for his works with strong romanticism,is a German outstanding pianist,composer and music critic in 19 th century.His music works and reviews are all examples of the German romantic music period with unique creative techniques,emotional expression,as well as his aesthetic heritage having a profound impact on later generations.Schumann has created three sonatas for the violin.Completed in 1851,a Minor Violin and Piano Sonata,the first work,is of special importance,which is worthy of in-depth exploration.This paper consists of four parts.Based on the study of music score,the related literatures and the audio-visual materials,it conducts a comprehensive analysis of the musical structure of a Minor Violin and Piano Sonata,work techniques,playing skills and emotional expression,violin and piano parts coordination,as well as its historical significance and value.And it tries to give some enlightenment to the future players,and to provide a theoretical basis and performance reference.
