Schumann’s Piano Sonata in G Minor,Op.22 is the second of three sonatas composed by Schumann in Romantic period.and because of its conciseness and romanticism,it is most often used for playing and learning, which has high artistic value. This paper analyzes the music characteristics of the work through four aspects: the characteristics of the song, the rhythm, the polyphonic technique and the motive of the Clara theme, and then analyzes and processes the misplaced stress, polyphonic part and pedal application of the work based on the author’s performance experience. Finally,in the multi-dimensional research analysis and a large number of performance exercises on the song, the author subtly benefited from it,and hopes to use his academic theory and practical experience through this article for the performers to learn from.
