A Comparison Of The Discourse Markers Between Chinese And Korean Emotional Interjections

This study focuses on comparing Chinese and Korean emotional interjection from the semantic, syntactic features and discourse marker function. The main result of this study is as follows.There are two points in the semantic features of Chinese and Korean emotional interjection. The first point is that Chinese and Korean emotional interjection have a strong dependence on the context, the other one is that they both can show a variety of rich emotions. The difference is that the amount of Korean emotional interjection is far more than the Chinese emotional interjection, so the Korean emotional interjection contains more semantics than the Chinese emotional interjection.The commonality of Chinese and Korean emotional interjection in the syntactic features is that they have independent and positional freedom in the sentence. The difference is that the Chinese emotional interjection can be the composition of a sentence, but the Korean emotional interjection can not.Through the comparative research, the study finds out that both of Chinese and Korean emotional interjection have a corresponding discourse marker function among the three stages of a dialogue. However, because of the large amount of Korean emotional interjection, Korean emotional interjection have more diverse expressions in the performance of discourse marker function.
