Modern Chinese Relatives Title Research

Kinship is ubiquitous in human society and exists in any one of the world’s peoples and as a symbol of kinship relations,relative appellations also exist in any language.The relative appellation in modern Chinese is an important part of the modern Chinese vocabulary system.The relative appellations of Chinese are influenced by many factors such as patriarchal clan system,Confucian culture,traditional farming economy,marriage system and social culture psychology,etc.It has the characteristics of fine classification,complicated and complex,flexible use.Relative appellations and human social life are closely related,so the relevant research results are more abundant.From the earliest "Er Ya",there are many studies about relative appellations of the relevant records,which can be said provides a wealth of information for the descendants of kinship title study,until now more and more scholars from a wide range of perspective on the relatives of the system of inquiry analysis.Since ancient times,relative appellation development is stable,mostly used by modern people,and it has a strong vitality.However,with the development of modern society and the influence of modern marriage system and social cultural psychology,the use of many relative appellations has changed,which requires us to use the development point of view to investigate modern Chinese relative appellations in order to make better use of relative appellations in interpersonal communication.On the basis of literature review and previous studies,the author combine social life experiment,use Modern Chinese Dictionary(6th Edition)as a closed corpus,and make statistics and collation of the relative appellations,and then uses the relative appellations of modern society to conduct a comprehensive and elegant system.Although the modern Chinese relative appellations go through thousands years of development and evolution,the written language system has maintained its basic appearance,which shows that the use of basic vocabulary have the feature of stability.And it made the evolution has its basis,meanwhile staying the same.Modern Chinese relative appellations are constantly changing in modern society,especially influenced by the modern family structure and people’s idea,many of the old appellations are rarely used or no longer used by people,and then produced some new appeals,which not only rich the modern Chinese appellation system,but also meet the language needs of the main body.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly expounds the research purpose and the significance of the paper,and introduces the research profiles of relative appellation from ancient and modern times two aspect.The second chapter is the origin of kinship terms,which is analyzed from the perspective of semantics and marriage system.Then,the development and application of relative appellations are described.In addition,the author summarized the relative appellations in Modern Chinese Dictionary(6th Edition),and made a comparative analysis of several different types in the form of a table,summed up the characteristics of kinship terminology in modern Chinese.The third chapter makes a statistical analysis of morphemes ofkinship terms and sums up the characteristics of morpheme distribution.The relationship of relative appellation is presented in the form of relational graphs,and its semantic components are explained.The fourth chapter discusses the generalization phenomenon of relative appellation in modern Chinese,and summarizes its characteristics,main types,variants and causes.
