Self-identity as an important concept of psychology plays a particular role in emerging adulthood. The purpose of the study was to inquire into the effect of the group guidance based on the model of adolescent identity formation of Luyckx on self-identity formation of junior college students. Eight participants with M status and fourteen participants with D-M status were matching assigned into experiment group and control group. The eleven students in experiment group were arranged to attend eight sessions of group counseling, the control group received no treatment. The independent variable was the group guidance, the dependent variable were every subject's scores in the DIDS. The observation sheets, reflections of leaders and members were used as the proof and supplement of the research results.The following conclusions were drawn from the study:1. Statistical analysis showed that group guidance program designed for junior college students self-identity of five dimensions have different effects, and little change to exploration in breadth, other dimension and total score were significantly improved. It is prove that the effective of self-designed group guidance program can promote the development of the ego identity; and it is the best to exploration in breadth.2. Qualitative material analysis shows that, the group guidance based on the model of adolescent identity formation of Luyckx showed positive effects on development of identity. The group relationships of group guidance can strengthen the effect of solution, and it is the one of effective way for students' identity to formation and development of interventions; the model of adolescent identity formation of Luyckx of the relationship in the five dimensions has been validated.
