Abstract/Summary:
Adolescence is the critical period of transition from the immature to mature. The physics and self-awareness of young people develops rapidly, they have the sense of adults and require independent, but most parents still treat them as the children. So the adolescent and their parents are prone to have friction and conflict. Research shows that the current status of parent-child communication is not very well, adolescent and their parent have low frequency and poor quality about communication. This phenomenon affects the growth of young people and the harmony of the family; it always has the bad effect on social stability. This study aims to validate the effect of TA in intervening parent-child communication of junior high school students, exploring an effective and easy method for students and their parents. It is important to ease the conflict of parents and children, promote the healthy growth of young people, and safeguard the social stability and harmony of their families.The first study used the adolescent parent-child communication psychological questionnaire (PACT) to test 277 adolescents to explore the status of their parent-child communication. The second study selected 18 families who exist problems about parent-child communication. These families were divided into 2 groups to be as experimental group and the comparison group. The former was required to receive a TA experimental treatment of 16 hours, which lasts for 4 weeks. What's more,3 months after the treatment, a tracing test was needed. One family was selected to receive the guidance TA in the third study.Results are as follows:(1) The status of parent-child communication has differences on variables of gender, grade, one-child or non-child, family demographic and so on. Results are as follows:The communication with their mothers is better than with their fathers; Girls'is better than boys'communication with their mothers; To the status of communication grade one develops best and grade three develops worst; One-child is better than non -child on the whole and ability dimensionality, but worse on motivation dimensionality; Participation tendency, Emotion need, Understand, Flexible communication, Motivation dimensionality and the whole, rural students'is higher than city students', but lower on Sense of relaxation and Positive listening.(2)The design of the parent-child communication group counseling significantly changed the status of parent-child communication from the factor of relaxed sense, active listening and open expression and so on. TA group counseling has effect to improve the status of parent-child communication of junior high school students.(3) After three months, the parent-child communication in relaxed feeling, active listening and open expression are still significant, suggesting that the TA group counseling program for junior high school students to improve communication has a lasting effect.(4) It is confirmed that TA has effect to improve the status of parent-child communication of junior high school students.Conclusion:The TA is useful in improving the status of parent-child communication of junior high school students.
