"Today" (1978-1980): From The Image Of The Work To The Image Of The Subject

Today, established by BeiDao, MangKe, Huang Rui, Chen Huanxing, etc on December 23.1978. has been a systematic symbol in the literary history. It has brazed new tails with its "distinctive features" for literary and artistic creation in the new times. Today, as a non-governmental periodical, is also a literary and artistic group, which not only issues Today, but also holds literary works seminar, poetry recitation meetings, creating "Stars Arts Exhibition", etc. This thesis starts from Today's team-orientation. Firstly, it reflects Today's team spirit based on poetry and paintings' "images". Secondly, it discussesToday's art form by depending on art itself, and demonstrates where its "pioneer spirit" comes from to return "history" orientation and value. Thirdly, it researches the creative psychologyof the writers who create Today and "starts", upon which Today's subject imagesare based. This thesis includes two chapters.Chapter one:it mainly picks out the images in a comprehensive way from the poetry and paintings included in Today and "Starts", and then illustrates these images in different categories, such as series of sky image symbols, earth image symbols, and history and cultural image symbols. According to this, chapter one contains three parts. The first part tells about the following images, such as "sky'", "sun", "starts", "moon", and "dawn" mentioned respectively in'"sky" image series and solar images. The second part talks about such images as "earth", "ocean", "weave", "ships" mentioned in "earth" image series. The third part discusses about "Yuanmingyuan imperial garden" and "great wall'" depicted in history and cultural image series. Through these images. this thesis explores the new space blazed out by pioneer writers of Today and "stars". Among the images discussion, analysis about sky, earth, history, etc can basicly structure a depth skeleton which is the return of art noumenon and individual subjectivity. The typical images analysis witnesses the different levels in different times of Today in the last century, upon which its pioneer spirit and modernistic pointing based.The second chapter mainly studies the subject images hidden behind the art images to further discuss about Today' meaningful team. This thesis reflects, from demonstrating images to practical analyzing subject images, the different levels of opinions and reviews of creators for life experience and living situation. Furthermore, it tells the relationship between different levels review and subject's self-awareness and actual situation. Echoing to the first chapter's structure, the second chapter also arranges three parts. The first part illustrates points of name-share subjects and group subjects represented by Jiang He, Yang Lian, etc. The second part discusses about the points of looking for oneself outward and constructing oneself inward represented by Bei Dao, Mang Ke, etc. The third part defines individual subjectivity represented by Tian Xiaoqing and Duo Duo.The creation of Today bears revolutionary significance in the contemporary Chinese literary history.This thesis, starting from entirety, explores its factors as much as possible, and returns its spot abundance as well as its height of literature and arts.
