A Study On "Today" Poetry

By the young poets Beidao, Monk founded,"Today"began publication on December 23, 1978, in December, 1980, it was compelled to stop all activities. It was a non-official publication which collecting novel, the poetry, the commentary, the foreign literature translated comprehensively in a body"the pure literature".It was especially biggest by the poetry to the reader's impact at that time. From the underground poetry to the new time"the Misty Poetry","Today"is the bridge which is unable to detour. It is not only the underground which makes poets moves toward central from the edge of the redeployment platform, also is the centralized camp before"the Misty Poetry"rising.As an unofficial publication, if"Today"wants to obtain its valid status in the literature field territory in"the new time", it must first establish one clearly bright"self"image. In the first chapter ,by the detailed historical data and the massive poetry text analysis, I attempt to present the construction course of the"self"image .Under the suppression by"dissident world",the"Today"poets started material and spiritual double stray, to regain the spirit of freedom. Confronting anxiously in the exile with the dissident world, seeking with hardship in the self-exile, upholding ideal in the political immobilization, under the initiation spirit's illumination, the"Today"poets shoulder the thought and the literature dual initiation, guarding"ideal", pursuing"free","human nature","self"will be designated as a tragic hero.Emphasizing the standpoint of"pure literature", pursuing language's experimental nature and the non-uniformity, the poets have composed the brilliant in"the new time"in the literature field territory magnificence. Reactivating individual image, expressing individual feeling, transmitting personal experience, making widely known the individual emotion, using principal language, pursuing the defamiliarization effect, the"Today"poets respect the independence and the creativity of the poetry, and restore the organism vitality of the poetry. Placing themselves in the world culture pattern, they study the expression skills of the West poetry, such as the symbol, the montage, the irony the distortion and so on. These skills strengthened the tension of the poetry, expanded the words space, promoted the body construction of the poetry. To breakthrough politics' bamboo fence, the"Today"poetries lead to walk on the literature path for Chinese current literature.It is a big difficult problem on how to balance the paradox between the marginal characteristic and the restructuring significance of the Enlightenment proposition. In third chapter, I pay attentions to the expression and dissemination strategies, the poets striving for the words authority in the process. The word obtained the strength which can seize a person's soul in the sound production .The"Today"poets invested the enormous enthusiasm to the authority function of the sound .In order to guarantee that"the sound"can disseminate effectively, the"Today"poets not only expand volume by"yells", striving for the greatest effect of"the echo",but also cross the bamboo fence of the literature publication, uniting the political forces in the community positively, to enter into the public discourse space.
