Chief Physician Yao Kuiwu Used Yangyin Dingyu Decoction To Treat Ventricular Premature Contraction

Objective:Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)plays a historical role in treating premature ventricular contractions(PVCS),which called palpitations in TCM.After the development and updated from dynasty to dynasty,the etiology and pathogenesis,together with syndrome differentiation and medication dispatch has already built into system.Numbers of both clinical and animal researches point out that those arrhythmia drugs can lead to new arrhythmia in some aspects.There is no doubt that Chinese medicine decoction has many advantages.Treating can be more targeted via using it,and it’s also the preponderance of TCM.Dr.Yao Kuiwu,a chief physician from Guang’anmen Hospital,China academy of Chinese Medical Sciences.And he’s my master’s mentor as well.Yangyindingji decoction is designed by my mentor according to his abundant clinical experiences.He draws emphasize to irregular rations and stress.Set deficiency of heart Yin as key pathogenesis.Pays great attention to the usage and dose of Chinese medicine while treating,and always get great efficacy.This research aims at establishing foundation for the further promotion.Method:All the 24 patients were selected from my mentor’s outpatient clinic.Each of them meets the diagnosis of premature ventricular contractions and palpitations,heart Yin deficiency.Patients were asked to write questionnaire of my research before the study begin and after they take 8 weeks of Yangyindingji decoction,and I calculate their score.Holter was also important to evaluate the tendency of treatment and HRV indexes.Main research indicators include the variety of TCM integral,the total number of PVCS,HRV indexes,Myerburg grading standards,ALT,AST,Cr and BUN.Finally after the clinical research we can explore the effect of Yangyindingji decoction in improving symptoms and HRV indexes,decline PVCS,lowering Myerburg grading standards.Result:The subjects composited by 11 male and 13 female.The total efficient in improving the symptoms of heart Yin deficiency is 87.50%.Top four symptoms that decreased significantly are palpitation,dry mouth,tinnitus and dysphoria in chestpalms-soles.17 patients showed an over 50%decrease in ventricular premature beats number,the efficient of treatment is 70.83%.All the 24 patients’s ventricular premature beats number ranges from 2250 to 8333,occupied 5.57%of all the heart beats.After 8 weeks of TCM treatment,the number was decreased from 655 to 3333,2.08%of all the heart beats.Those 3 indexes of HRV:PNN50、rMSSD together with SDNN showed a increase after taking Yangyindingji decoction.The average value of rMSSD after treatment increased 34.9 ms,and the difference shows a significant statistical significance.The average value of PNN50 after treatment increased 5.02%,and the difference shows a statistical significance There are 62.5%patients of all who’s Myerburg grading standard decreased.The most notable one’s Myerburg grading standard downs from 4 to 2.It should also be noticed that the differences between indexes about renal function and liver function didn’t have a statistical significance.Conclusion:Yangyindingji decoction truly has the ability to improve the clinical symptoms of palpitations,heart Yin deficiency syndrome.Decrease the ventricular premature beats number,the ectopic pacemaker together with ventricular tachycardia.It’s sure that Yangyindingji decoction can reduce the Myerburg grading standard.The mean heart rate didn’t be influenced.The increase of HRV indexed shows a possibility that the decoction in this research may reduce the ventricular premature beats number by adjust the function of autonomic nerve.Differences between renal function and liver function didn’t have a statistical significance,which means Yangyindingji decoction can treat PVCS,improve the living standard and safety.Further clinical studies are called and Yangyindingji decoction is worth to be promoted.
