Objective:To study the sex and age distribution of the chronic urticaria patients,and analyses the common causes of the disease,and summary the main traditional Chinese medicine syndromes by investigating the general information of chronic urticaria patients who come to Dongfang hospital.To lay the foundation of the future clinical guidance and deep study.Methods:An epidemiology questionnaire has been made to collect the general information of the chronic urticaria patients who came to Dongfang hospital between September2011and January2012.Then enter the data to establish a data bank and analyses it by SPSS18.0.Results:1.111patients have been investigated.The female patients are more than male patients.The proportion of female to male is1.47:1.2.The youngest patient is2year-old and the oldest is85year-old.The mean age is (36.32±15.69) year-old.55.9%of the patients come from the21-40year-old group.The average sick time is (24.07±37.89) months.67.7%of patients'sick time is shorter than a year.3.61.3%of the patients have no obvious cause of the disease. The environment temperature change is the main cause of chronic urticaria.24.2%of patients get itch because of it. The food and physic factor and emotion changes are also common.4.57.7%of the patients are attacked by itch and rash in the evening. Then it is also common when rising.79.3%of the patients are attacked whole body by rash.5.17.1%of the patients like to eat hot pepper or sweet or oily food.18.9%of the patients have the habits of drinking and smoking.15.3%of the patients have other dermatosis while4.5%of the patients have internal disease and1.8%of the patients have been operated on before.17.1%of the patients have positive allergy.6.45.0%of patients have a midrange itch while40.5%of the patients have a severe itch. The male patients who have a midrange or severe itch are more than the female. The children patients all don't a severe itch while the old patients who are over60years old don't have a mild itch.56.8%of the patients have more than20wheals. The female patients who have more than20wheals are more than the male. The children patients and the patients over the age of60all have a midrange or severe itch.68.5%of the patients are attacked by itch and wheals at least one time. The female patients who have a itch and wheals at least one time are more than the male. The children patients won't be the onset of the disease a few days a time,while the patients over the age of60won't be the onset of the disease a few times a day.87.4%of the patients'wheals would disappear in12hours. The male patients whose wheals will disappear after12hours more than the female. The proportion of the patients whose wheals would be existence over12hours is the biggest in the children patients. The sick time is longer the proportion of the patients whose symptoms is midrange or severe is smaller.In the group which sick time is in10years7.Being lack of power,bad appetite, to dread cold wheather,sleepnessless,cool hands and feet, spontaneous perspiration are the most common syndromes.8. The stagnation of the liver qi and deficiency of spleen qi syndrome is more common than qi deficiency syndrome,damp-heat syndrome,blood deficiency and wind-dryness syndrome,yin deficiency and endogenous heat syndrome,lung-stomach-heat syndrome.Conclusion:Middle-aged people are attacked more easily by CU. The cause is also unknown. It may be affected by the temperature outside or emotion or loving spicy and oiled food or drinking and smoking or touching the sensibilisin. The symptoms would be different if the age and sick time are not same. The most chronic urticaria patients are deficiency in the root and excess in the branch and emotion disharmony. So it would get good curative effect to treat these patients with reinforcing the deficiency and soothing the liver and relieving depression by traditional Chinese drug.
