Objective: To formulate the complex treatment of traditional chinese medicine to circadian chronic urticaria on the basis of the syndromes law which summarized by investigating and the correlated theory of chinese chronomedicine and some influencing factors such as psychologic factor, life style and so on. In the complex treatment, the method"harmonizing yingfen and weifen"is main, and use the methods of health education and chinese chronomedicine in combination; To approach the efficacy which improved the symptoms and lower the recurrence rate through clinical trial. Method: To formulate the complex treatment of traditional chinese medicine to chronic urticaria, 64 cases of chronic urticaria were selected to the clinical research, and put these patients into the experimental group and the control group randomly, among them, 33 cases were in the experimental group , the complex treatment of traditional chinese medicine was applied for this group, and 31 cases were in the control group , gave western medicines to these patients. The course of treatment was 4 weeks, observed the symptoms change of 2 groups, and made 4 weeks follow-up visit, observed the recurrence rate of 2 groups. Result: 1.In the experimental group 9 patients were cured, 17 patients obtained obvious effect, 2 patients had somewhat effect and 5 patients had no change, the efficiency was 84.85%; in the control group 7 patients were cured, 7 patients obtained obvious effect, 6 patients had somewhat effect and 11 patients had no change, the efficiency was 64.52%. After the treatment, the symptoms in two groups has both improved, and the experimental group is superior to that of the control group, the difference has statistical significance(P<0.05). 2.1 month after the termination of treatment, in the experimental group 2 patients were recurred(22.22%) ; in the control group 5 patients were recurred(71.43%), the recurrence rate in the experimental group is lower to that of the control group, the difference has statistical significance(P<0.05). Conclusion: The complex treatment of traditional chinese medicine which mainly included the method"harmonizing yingfen and weifen", and used the methods of health education and chinese chronomedicine in combination has a better efficacy on the improvement of symptoms and the reduction of recurrence rate for circadian chronic urticaria. However, its long-term efficacy and improvement on quality of life have yet to be through further clinical observation to verify and clarify.
