A Preliminary Study On The Composition Of The Building Space Of Pei Ming

I M PEI is one of the most famous architects in the world today.Deeply influenced by the oriental classical gardens,his architecture combines the cultural connotations of the east and the west.I M PEI attaches importance to the relationship between man and architecture.In his architecture all over the world,the exhibition building serves as a cultural venue to provide human learning and communication,can best reflect his understanding of architecture.Therefore,it is very important to study the spatial composition of his exhibition architecture in the present moment when people are demanding a higher spiritual life.I M PEI is dedicated to the exploration and thinking of light and space,geometry and structure,materials and colors.He tries to find a fusion design technique in the history and culture of the exhibition building,so as to enrich the existence of the exhibition architecture.This paper is based on two aspects of the study,to discuss the spatial structure of his exhibition architecture.On the one hand,through his academic career,teasing the traditional Confucian thoughts and the western modernism in the 20th century that influence his architectural thought.On the other hand,relying on domestic and foreign relevant content,research results and field investigation,analyzing the Everson Museum in the Americas,the National Gallery of Art,East Building;the Grand Louvre pyramid in Europe,the Deutsches Historisches Museum Zenghaus and the Miho Museum of fine arts in Asia and the Su Zhou art Museum and discussing the characteristics of the historical environment,the organizational form of the inner space,the construction of the atrium space,the rendering of light and the setting of the path.Finally,through the analysis and summary of six cases,getting his way of constructing the architecture,discussing the reference value of Ieoh Ming Pei to China's exhibition architecture today and then providing some reference for improving the space structure of the exhibition architecture in China.
