"Tradition" brands itself into our lives, but what is tradition? Tradition changes with the current of the times, it hasn' t a generally acknowledged definition yet. It is forever in the creation. It is much more than a ready-made thing that we inherited from our ancestor; it is a thing that we are making by ourselveso Tradition is influenced, restricted and changed by every single generation of designerso We are comprehending the progress of tradition and also participating in the progress that tradition is in, we are defining the tradition step by step by ourselveso However, where is our tradition now?Every thing has its relative border-domain, no matter it is visible or invisible. Border-domain plays a very important role in our lives: people' s activities mainly concentrate in the border-domain districts: border-domain plays a very important role in our lives: person's activities mainly concentrate in the border-domain district, such as fringes of a square, places beside a door , a window or a pillar, pillar. Plants flourish most in the places where lawn and cement ground meet, and insects also tend to gather there. In the places where the cold current of ocean meets the warm current of ocean people can find lots of fish because that is the very place where fish can find foods . The particularity, heterogeneity and instability of ecosystem border-domain provide it with higher species abundance and productivity etc.Although Chinese classical garden have many different garden-creating elements,such as mountain, water, plant, buildingo etc, they have one thing in common-border-domain. "Peeps a spot but slightly know the whole leopard" , understand the essence of Chinese classical garden border-domain, is equal to the understanding of the whole innate characteristics of Chinese classic garden character,.The full text is divided into three keynotes, the first part is the "Rising" part, this is the textual basic part, via the discourse of characteristics of the border-domain phenomenon and related course , it brings forward Chinese classical garden border-domain concept and general border-domain concept ; through discussing the history of Chinese classical garden border-domain development and comparing the differences between eastern and western foundation of traditional culture along with the basic characteristics of Chinese classical garden border-domain ( garden part), unveil the general characteristics of Chinese classical garden border-domain. The second part is the "Breaking" part, this is the essential part of the article, the innate characteristics of Chinese classical garden are revealed by the discussion of the integral innate characteristics and the composition principle of Chinese classical garden. The third part the "Establishment" part, through the discussion above it, joining with the characteristics of border-domain of the architecture, city planning and the ecology, brings forward the principle for designing modern garden border-domain.Chinese classical garden border-domain such as closing places and places asthose described in the poem' s and painted in the pictures occupy a place in the art of world gardening, no matter whether they are reasonable or unreasonable in modern point of viewoHowever, nowadays, garden border-domain is lack of practical function, beautiful art characteristic, and humanized design with abundant culture connotation. What kind of "tradition" can we leave to the future generations? There is no doubt that we have only one goal which is to absorb the essence of Chinese classical garden, combine it with modern design principle and construct modern gardens which have unique Chinese cultural characteristics.
