Analysis Of The "dialogue" Between Architecture And Nature

Tadao Ando is one of contemporary architects of Japan.Tadao Ando was rated as "the modernist architecture poet with the Eastern philosophy" by the academic circle of architectures due to his design concept of "conversation with nature" in his architecture works.RCR Arquitectes in Spain gathers the contemporary architects of Europe.Their architecture design concept also was praised as "originating from nature,returning back to nature",which coincides with Tadao Ando’s design concept.But RCR Arquitectes is different from Tadao Ando’s architecture concept of "conversation with nature",including climate,environment and other objective factors of the construction site as well as the architect’s design and thinking concepts and other subjective factors.The paper selects three groups of residential works which relatively reflect the concept of "conversation with nature" from both of the works of Tadao Ando and RCR Arquitectes as the research object,and by referring to considerable authoritative drawings and photo materials and adopting computer modeling and restoration and graphical analysis methods in a comprehensively manner,analyzes and makes comparative research of the two groups of works in terms of environmental conditions of the site,the association method of internal and external space,relationship between building materials and nature,and the natural ideas advocated by architects.After analysis and research,the research viewpoints are as following:In the living space,Tadao Ando’s natural philosophy inclines to create a"human"-centered situation,separating it from the external objective space to form a natural poetic living space full of Eastern philosophy.But the natural technique adopted by RCR Arquitectes in Spain focuses more on mobilizing multiple elements such as the building block structure,material texture,and surrounding environment,and integrate it skillfully through unique design thinking,thus creating a living space that features full man-and-nature interaction and integration.
