CQ Company Staff Performance Assessment Improvement Research

Abstract/Summary:
Performance management,which plays an important role of human resource management,becomes the object of many scholars to study.In the modem enterprise practice,managers always view it as treasure.However,when this outstanding management tool,which comes from the westem countries in 1970s,joins in the Chinese enterprise operation,it always seemed a bit "unaccustomed".CQ Company in this paper,its predecessor is a large state-owned manufacturing company.It mainly produces power transmission and transformation equipment with high voltage.In 2005,CQ Company was purchased by fortune 500 S Group,and became a Sino-foreign joint venture.Through the analysis of the present situation of performance management in CQ Company,the author found the existence of many problems,showing managers and employees are lack of understanding of performance management;performance target setting is not scientific;performance assessment method is not appropriate;the lack of communication and feedback of performance result;ignore the application and implementation of the performance results.Aiming at the existing problems of current performance assessment in CQ Company,the author tries to make improvement from the following aspects,and to establish the performance assessment which is suitable for the current situation of CQ Company:performancc management process improvement;performance indicator system improvement;performance assessment method improvement;performance result feedback and communication improvement;performance result application improvement.In order to escort the staff performance assessment improved implementing and executing down in CQ Company successfully,the author established the supporting measures accordingly,which are discussed mainly including enhancing cognition and identity of all staff to performance management;always keeping in touch with Group Company;to ensure the availability and update of the job description;and to enhance the information level of staff performance assessment.In the last sections of the paper,the author summarized the main research findings and conclusions of the article,and examined the shortcomings of the research.Meanwhile,the author found out the directions for further researches.
