Research On The Competitiveness Of Agricultural Products Processing Industry In Shanxi Province

Agricultural products processing industry is an extension of the agricultural industrial chain, and the manifestation of integration of the primary and secondary industry. Its development is of great significance to developing modern agriculture, increasing farmers’ income, improving rural economy, promoting urban-rural integration, and achieving China Dream of a comprehensive well-off society.First, with agricultural products processing industry above designated scale in Shanxi province as research subject, the article analyzed its development situation from five aspects of scale, economic status, structure, processing and transforming degree, and economic efficiency. It also concluded achievements and problems of agricultural products processing industry in Shanxi province. Second, it applied "Diamond Model" to discuss six influence factors of competitiveness of agricultural products processing industry in Shanxi province. And it pointed out its competitive advantages were sufficient raw materials of distinctive agricultural products, many high-profile agricultural products brands, stable development of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, and high industrial congregativeness. Its disadvantages were slow e-commerce development, low investment in science and technology, and less new products. Third, it established the evaluation index system of comprehensive competitiveness of agricultural products processing industry in Shanxi Province, and selected nine indicators suitable for factor analysis of principal component analysis based on KMO and Bartlett spherical test results by using software of SPSS and factor analysis. According to rotated cumulative variance contribution rate, scree plot and rotated loading matrix, it identified and named four common factors:efficiency factor, scale factor, market performance factor, and productivity factor. On the basis of the factor score function and overall competitiveness evaluation model, it calculated the score and ranking of the main factor and overall competitiveness, and made the evaluation. The result showed that the competitiveness of food industry in Shanxi Province was strong and that of timber and textile industry was weak. Then it analyzed agricultural products processing industry in 26 regions in China using the same method, and the result showed that regional comprehensive competitiveness of agricultural products processing industry in Shanxi Province was weak and food industry had regional competitive advantage. At last, the article put forward to adjust industrial structure, encourage deep processing, develop the "Internet+ agricultural products processing industry", achieve innovation-driven growth and other policies and suggestions to enhance the competitiveness of agricultural products processing industry in Shanxi Province.
