Research On Cross-organizational Business Process Model Based On Artifact

With the rapid development of globalization and information technology, more and more business needs the cooperation of different organizations. As cross-organizational business process could effectively coordinate resource and labor between different enterprises, and improve the competitiveness of the enterprises, it gets more and more applications.The cross-organizational business process involves business services running in different organization's system, these organizations have different internal data structure, and they need to ensure the security and autonomy of data and processes. When the relationship between organization becomes complex, this would bring about many challenges to the cross-organizational process modeling, execution and monitoring technology. Currently, the existing solutions for cross-organizational business process focus on the activities and control flow, not pay attention to the data perspective during the collaboration. This leads to the modeling of cross-organizational process may not support some kinds of interactive pattern, and needs to solve the data heterogeneity problem manually, the process monitoring for it is difficult, reduce the flexibility of cross-organizational business process.For the above problem, this paper proposed a cross-organizational business process model, which covers the process modeling execution and monitoring phase, it is based on the research of public process view and the artifact business process modeling method, integrate the data modeling with process modeling. In this paper, we mainly studied how to implement different interaction pattern by using data to represent connection and transformation of message between different organizations. Based on these researches, we also study the running and application mechanism of our model, provides a convenient method for the application and development of cross-organizational process.In this paper, the research work mainly include the followings:1. Framework of Cross-organizational business process model based on artifactBase on the research of Artifact and cross-organizational business process, the framework of our model is proposed. The model framework solved the use of our model in practical application scenario, different part of model are connected to each other and have different creation order. This model's construction is based on the service repository and business system of the organization, all the steps from the static model design to the deployment are based on the data of different environments.2. Model of cross-organizational process based on ArtifactBased on the research, a model for cross-organizational business process is proposed. This model covers business process design, execution and monitoring, and it is consist of public model, monitor model and private model. The public model is consisted of public data model, message definition and public collaborative model, it describes the interaction of process from different organization, and shared by different organization, and it is the foundation of other model. The private model is consisted of private artifact model, executable process model and the data mapping, it is the implementation of public model in different organization, and helps the running and monitoring of the process. The monitor model is developed by different organization for their purpose, and defines the monitored object.3. The application mechanism of process based on our modelBased on upon model, we study the application mechanism of it. First we introduce the xml description of public model, private process and monitor protocol. Then Introduce then execution mechanism, support the automatic conversion of data between data of different process, the messages matching mechanism in the run-time, the correlation of message data and data within process, and the data and process monitoring in a distributed environment. Finally we introduce the design of public model and private process in different interaction pattern.4. A prototype system and the verification of our modelWe design and implement a prototype system, which is capable of running the above cross-organizational private process model. It is consisted of a process engine, a monitoring module and a message center. The process engine support the data flow and the state to control execution of process instance, the monitoring module support cross-organizational business process monitoring and the message center could dispatch different message in run-time. We use an example of logistic to verify the feasibility of our model, and have a comparison with other method based on the results.The implementation of the prototype system and the verification results shows that the cross-organizational business process model provides a simpler and effective solution for cross-organizational collaboration modeling and application. And the research work of the paper has some reference value and application prospect.
