In order to stand out and develop in the increasing market competition, all the manufacturing enterprises take how to increase the project management ability in the new product development as the important driving force in promoting its comprehensive marketing competitiveness. However, because of the heavy-investment, high-fail rate of new product development, in order to reduce the risk, enterprise have to increase its project management ability to ensure the successful rate of new product development. Company T setup a set of comparatively comprehensive new product development process, organization structure, project management system and quality & efficiency management system. As time goes by, new project development cycle speeds up and the market demand changes rapidly, company's current project management system is powerless and can't complete customer's new product development tasks on time; which cause the awkward situations: orders lost. Company's spur to reinvent the project management system for new product development becomes more and more fierce.This essay mainly studies the project management system optimization and improvement for new product development. First, the essay analyzes T company's new product development process and organization structure, finding out the existing problem, analyzing the reason, and consolidate the problem into sections as organization structure, new product development process, project management system, quality and production efficiency. According to these five questions, it points out the solution correspondingly: optimizing the organization structure; improving the new product development process; setting up project planning management system and project goal management system to optimize the project management system; setting up PFMEA(process potential failure mode and effective analysis) and lean management tools, quality control chart to promote the quality; applying standard work, total production maintenance and cell design 3 lean management tools to raise the efficiency, and conduct feasibility analysis; then testify the effects of improved new product development project management system via new product I.
