A Comparative Study On Urban Comprehensive Carrying Capacity Of Regional City In Jiangxi Province

Various “urban problems” continuously appear with the accelerated process of industrialization and urbanization,which lead academics began to pay close attention to urban comprehensive carrying capacity.The urban comprehensive carrying capacity is a kind of ability of urban within legal boundary,under a certain period,who’s all natural elements and achievements such as material foundation and capital wealth which created by human being’s long-term social and economic activities to carry city’s sustainable development.Based on the perspective of system theory,this paper construct the index system of urban system by analyze it’s structure and functional features,then use a combination of qualitative and quantitative method to determine the index comprehensive weights to establish the model of urban comprehensive carrying capacity,and take a dynamic comparative study on urban comprehensive carrying capacity of regional city in Jiangxi province.First,through review a lot of relevant literatures at home and abroad,and with a full analysis of the inter mechanism of urban system,the urban comprehensive carrying capacity concept is defined,its action objects are human being’s social and economic activities,and its carrying factors are all urban system’s natural elements and achievements which creative by human’s long-term social and economic activities,its goal is the sustainable development of city.Then,using the system complexity theory to analyze the mechanism between system elements by combined with the present situation and problems of city,and using the system short-plate theory to explore its restrictive factors,then considering elements’ circulation and compensation effect,using the system integration theory to explore the comprehensive carrying capacity between each subsystem of city.According to scientific principles,this paper construct the index system,and combining expert investigation method and entropy method to determine the index comprehensive weights to establish the model of urban comprehensive carrying capacity.Finally,collect the index data of eleven regional city in Jiangxi province from 2006 to 2013,make an empirical analysis towards the urban comprehensive carrying capacity of regional city in Jiangxi province.The results shows that: in some extent,the system natural elements restrict the comprehensive carrying capacity of regional city in Jiangxi province,but with circulation and composition of system elements’,it shows a rising trend,and the city software elements is playing a positive role to urban;Northwestern region(Nanchang,Jiujiang and Yichun)and south region(Ganzhou and Ji’an)of Jiangxi province who’s urban comprehensive carrying capacity is more higher than other regions,and shows a "bipolar" pattern;Although some cities like Pingxiang,Shangrao and Fuzhou,who’s elements’ carrying capacity has a good performance,but its comprehensive carrying capacity is not high,indicating that the urban comprehensive carrying capacity is decided by all elements of city system,the impact of a single factor is relatively limited.All in all,under the limited circumstances of system hardware elements,the city manager should be scientific and rational to layout the city’s system elements to enhance the urban comprehensive carrying capacity by accelerate the circulation of software elements and play its full role.In the Central Soviet area,the cities of Ganzhou and Ji’an,who’s urban comprehensive carrying capacity is stronger enough and all elements is in excellent condition,which is advantage for the state’s supportting projects fall on the ground.Northwestern region(Nanchang,Jiujiang and Yichun)and south region(Ganzhou and Ji’an)of Jiangxi province who’s urban comprehensive carrying capacity is stronger enough,which has a good ability to undertake the industrial which transfer from southeast coastal area.
