Since China’s reform and opening up in early 1980s, a large number of foreign companies have established presence in this promising market. The highlight of the thesis is a case study of PPG’s corporate cultural localization, in which the author analyzed the problems existing in the company’s current culture by conducting chart analysis, telephone interview and questionnaires. In the end of the thesis, solutions and improvement strategies are proposed to address these problems. As a veteran employee who has been working with PPG for 17 years, the author combined theoretical analysis and on-site case study in a bid to search for the right path that PPG can adont to localize its American-style corporate culture in the Chinese market. The esearch will be instrumental to the company’s building up a pluralistic culture and work force.
