With the coming of economic globalization,especially since China joined the WTO,an increasing number of international renown chain of enterprises have rushed into China.The problem that has accompanied this is how organizational culture of the foreign enterprises can merge into the Chinese local culture and combine with it during the enterprise management.This paper,through the introduction and analysis of the organizational culture of W Company as well as the illustration of the organizational culture and the localization related theories,in response to the three stages of localization that the organizational culture of W Company has experienced in China,found the problems W Company has encountered in China,including the idea of management and decision method,human resources management,organizational communication and the power distribution and use.There are four main reasons which cause the cultural conflict,and they are the difference between individual and self demand,communication barriers and the difference of understanding,ethnocentrism,and laws and regulations and changes of the external business environment.In the light of the above four points of cultural conflict,the reasons causing the cultural conflicts are analyzed and the improving strategies are put forward to solve the main localization problems of organizational culture of W Company has encountered in China based on the analytic content.Improvement should be made in two aspects.Firstly,a comprehensive understanding of the Chinese market culture should be made to comprehend the kernel of Chinese traditional philosophy in the enterprise culture,thus to remove the cultural conflict between the organizational culture of W Company and the Chinese local culture in the process of the localization and then make enterprise organizational culture innovations aimed at the Chinese market.Secondly,a sound enterprise organizational culture system should be constructed in the process of localization of W Company and three main points covered are the idea of management,production and marketing and the human resources management.Through a global recognition of the organizational culture in Chinese market,it aims at building a typical W Company Culture characteristic of Chinese local culture in the process of localization,which will enable W Company to become more adaptable to the Chinese market and to maintain the competitive edge for further development. |
