With the development of research in theory and practice in corporate culture,research method has changed from the qualitative description to quantitative analysis,and the measurement study of corporate culture is attracting more and more researcher’sattention gradually. People come to realize that an effective measurement of corporateculture is a fundamental work to diagnose and manage the corporate culture.In our cultural background, how to acquire scientifically cultural situation of anenterprise, to assess accurately the gap between the present state and the desired one andgrasp the corporate values is the key problem that this paper intended to solve.Reviewed the main results in the measurement study of corporate culture at home andabroad, this paper conducted indigenous study on competing values framework (CVF)with an entry point of application to this model in the context of our country. Firstly,finishing the theory review of related concept of corporate culture and its assessmentstudy, this study identified CVF as research object. Secondly, this paper determinedlocalized expressions of the measurement scale based on the literature review. Aftercompleting the exploration study of Chinese enterprises cultural dimensions, this paperadded two dimensions of our corporate culture to the measurement scale. Also, werevised scoring method on measurement scale from forced one to likert-seventh scalemethod according to its applications in our country. So we formed the final localizedmeasuring tool after pre-test study and re-revised model. Thirdly, we verified theapplicability and effectiveness of it. Finally, we summarized main content andinadequacies in this research and put forward the personal opinion of directions infuture research. Hopping this study can provide reference and support for our managerswhen to assess conditions of their corporate culture.
