TACAN navigation system,is a shorthand for the Tactical Air Navigation System,which is a tactical air navigation system.It is a military navigation system widely used around the world.TACAN Beacon Simulator is a dedicated signal source for TACAN equipment during production commissioning.Software Defined Radio(SDR)is a promising wireless communication technology.The technology realizes the Hardware circuit functions on a computer or an embedded system by using a software method,which makes the previous wireless communication system greatly simplified,and has a good effect on reducing the system complexity,hardware circuit volume and cost.The traditional TACAN signal simulator has the disadvantages of large volume and weight,and is not easy to carry.It is also expensive and cannot be upgraded by software upgrades.The research in this paper is to design and implement a zero intermediate frequency TACAN signal simulator based on software radio technology to solve the above drawbacks of the traditional TACAN signal simulator.The specific design work includes the hardware circuit part and the software part.The hardware circuit design mainly includes FPGA digital signal processing circuit design,memory circuit,display circuit design,and digital-to-analog conversion circuit design.In addition to the digital circuit part,another part of the hardware circuit design is a zero intermediate frequency transmitter circuit design.This part of the design work includes the PLL circuit design,filter circuit design,QAM circuit design.After completion of the schematic design work,PCB board design was completed.The software design work is Verilog digital signal processing program design,and it realizes the synthesis and output of TACAN baseband digital signal.Another part of the FPGA program design work is Nios soft core programming and phase-locked loop frequency synthesizer driver design.The actual completed TACAN signal simulator has good operating characteristics,it can achieve full coverage of the 962MHz-1213MHz,output power is higher than-5dBm,and has a good narrowband characteristics,the working bandwidth is less than 1MHz,The accuracy of the simulated azimuth signal is highe,fully meeting the design specifications.
