As double vulnerable group in the information society,the floating population of ethnic minorities has been on the edge of the mainstream society for a long time.With the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization and the continuous development of communication technology,the floating population of ethnic minorities can participate in the interaction of the network society.The springing up social media represented by WeChat provides a new way of ethnic communities for the marginal population,reduces the cost of social interaction among the floating population of ethnic minorities,and gives birth to national consciousness and self-identity changes.This paper takes an example of Bouyei nationality in Niupeng Town Weining County Guizhou Province,which is distributed all over the country.It has conducted netnography survey,observation and in-depth interview for three years based on the interaction of this ethnic group in social media,and has a discussion on how to use the social media to complete the construction of national self-identity.In this process,how is self-identity kept and reconstructed? What kind of cultural change has this identity experienced? The findings are as follows: Firstly,in the acquaintances society in “Half real-name registration system” based on WeChat social communication,the floating population of ethnic minorities has achieved the network of social relations,and completed the construction of national self-identity through introverted self-identity and outward collective identity in this network of social relations.On one hand,social media provide a private emotion field for marginalized groups,thus strengthening the national consensus in the dense group interaction;on the other hand,the modern development of social media and the change of means of social media change the elements of the traditional identity to some extent.Secondly,social media make the floating population of ethnic minorities have a brand new “encoding-decoding” space for national culture,which increases the possibility of expressing themselves for ethnic minorities,thus changing the form of cultural transmission into participatory culture transmission.The floating population of ethnic minorities has greatly increased the enthusiasm of national cultural transmission and realized group communication.In addition,the differences in the inner section of the floating population of ethnic minorities lead to the different transmission density.Elites affect the trend of national cultural to a large extent.Finally,social media is a tool for floating population of the ethnic minority to realize the goal of "cultural integration" and "identity change",it is also a method of getting essence of national culture in a brief way.The imagined community in the Internet has greatly satisfied the sense of belonging for the floating population and also gives birth to the ritual communication of national culture in the real community.
