Mobile Ad Hoc network(MANET)is a new type of wireless network that does not depend on fixed infrastructure and the nodes are self-organizing.In recent years,MANET has gained more and more attention due to its strong robustness,flexible and fast networking capabilities and other advantages,and it has been widely used in many fields such as military communications.Since the nodes of MANET are usually powered by batteries,it results in limited network energy and the exhaustion of nodes' energy will seriously affect the overall performance of the network.Therefore,the research on routing protocol based on energy optimization has become a hotspot in the field of MANET.Firstly,aiming at the problem of limited energy of network nodes,this paper studies the design idea of common routing protocols,researches the energy-saving technologies of the different layers of MANET and the energy optimization routing strategies of MANET.Then,aiming at the problem of limited energy and unbalanced load,this paper proposes a routing protocol based on energy aware and load balancing.The protocol defines the cost function which takes the energy cost and the load cost of the route as parameters,and selects the best route by using the corresponding cost function in the route reply phase,which can effectively optimize the network energy consumption.And it also gives a brief introduction of the NS2 network simulator,and verifies the performance of the proposed routing protocol by NS2.Lastly,after analyzing the power control problem of the MANET and using the non-cooperative game theory model to solve the power control model,this paper proposes a power control routing protocol based on game theory.The protocol regards the Nash Equilibrium solution calculated by the power control model based on the game theory as the best transmit power of nodes.The protocol records the power cost of the route in the RREQ packet during the route discovery phase and selects the route with the lowest power cost among all the available routes in the route reply phase,it also records the best transmit power level of nodes in the routing table entry.NS2 simulation result shows that the proposed protocol can effectively extend the life time of the MANET.
