Now we are entering a "big video era".Video service is developing rapidly and gradually occupy the majority of network traffic.The competition between video service providers is becoming increasingly fierce.How to improve the Quality of Experience(QoE)to obtain user traffic is crucial.As a new network architecture,software defined network(SDN)enables to separate data and control plane of computer networks,as well as control the network resources centrally through the controller.Using SDN technology to improve video QoE gradually becomes the consensus of the industry.This paper studies how to optimize the video QoE from the network routing aspect.First,the mapping relation model of network QoS parameters to QoE is established,and it is pointed out that the network parameters that affect the QoE are multiple and affect the QoE with different weights.Then the multi index balancing routing algorithm is proposed in view of the shortcomings of the traditional routing algorithm.The algorithm is dedicated to selecting a path with the largest QoE index value as the transmission path in the shortest path of the preceding N.It can effectively avoid the problem of poor user QoE caused by local congestion and loss of packets.In order to apply this algorithm,this paper further designs the QoE optimization framework based on three levels of SDN architecture,and mainly designs reasonable functional modules for control level.At the control level,we introduce network topology management,network parameter measurement and routing decision module to monitor the network status,and apply the proposed algorithm to route selection.Second,this paper implements and tests the QoE optimization framework based on SDN.A SDN network architecture is built,including building the video server and the client player,and the mininet network simulation platform is used to build the network topology.Next,we implement the control layer module in the QoE optimization framework by coding,and design the implementation method of network topology management,network parameter measurement and routing decision module.Then we set up the topology to carry out several experiments on each module.It is proved that the module can correctly acquire network topology,link bandwidth,delay,jitter and packet loss rate,and it can transmit data through the path specified by the routing algorithm.Finally,the performance test experiment of the QoE optimization framework system is carried out.The experimental results show that compared with the performance of the system with traditional shortest path routing algorithm,the system with the multi index balancing routing algorithm provides to yield better performance of each QoE parameter(including received video quality,rate of video,the number of interrupts,request delay and so on).
