With the development of multimedia communication technology and video compression technology, various digital video applications enter our daily life, which makes the requirement of video quality assessment become more and more important. Conventional Quality of Service (QoS) based video quality evaluation method, which uses network parameters as key performance indicators, cannot directly reflect actual user experience. While Quality of Experience (QoE) based method evaluates overall user satisfaction from users’ point of view. Therefore, QoE-based evaluation method is more practical to network operator and becomes a meaningful research topic in academia. This paper analyzes existing video quality assessment method, picks up key performance indicators from users’ point of view and proposes a QoE-based quality evaluation method, which is used for predicting users’ subjective experience on video streaming service. The good performance of this method has been verified through a subjective crowd test on video quality. |
