With the rapid development of network and multimedia technology, China’s digital TV industry.in various fields has achieved greater development:cable digital TV users continue to maintain substantial growth, the provincial network integration is promoting two-way transformation significantly accelerate, the wired network-based value-added services are larger promotion; telecom operators to increase the IPTV user development efforts, the bandwidth upgrade also contributed to the growth in the-number of users; satellite TV is gathering strength to carry out the construction of every village project. The development of China’s digital TV industry faces both of opportunities and challenges.With then vigorously promoting of China Telecom, IPTV’s coverage is more widely. Network quality of service put forward higher requirements. But it is lack of a well-established service quality monitoring system to assess the quality of the IPTV network. The data packet’s capture and analysis for the quality of service (QoS) of the network monitoring is essential, and existing network monitoring system based on the decoder data flow which makes the assessment inaccurate. Set-top boxes, as the carrier of IPTV, which memory and CPU performance is far less than the PC, the packet capture software on the PC that can’t run on the set-top box.Base on the quality of experience, the paper design set capture program running on the set-top box, uses the state machine to describe the logic between the data and the control information, and classifies data packets for IPTV on control information to calculate the packet loss rate, MDI, the request response time and other parameters for QoS of monitoring system. Compares with the traditional monitor system, the result proves the monitor system is accuracy and necessity. Major factor in the decline in the quality of the user experience is the network packet loss, with ensuring the accuracy of the data, we use Poisson process fitting the packet loss process and forecasting the number of packet loss of next cycle. The results will help the server to adjust the rate of pushing data, and.achieve the purpose that promotes the quality of user experience.
