Rapid development of contemporary wireless communication services has greatly increased the performance requirements of the telecommunications industry such as wideband,low cross-polarization,stable gain in operating frequency bands,and good radiation patterns.In 2006,Luk proposed a novel kind of magnetic-electric(ME)dipole antenna.The antenna achieves a relative operating bandwidth of 43.8%(SWR ? 1.5),stable gain in the operating band,almost coincident radiation patterns on the E-and H-plane,low cross-polarization and back-lobe radiation.Based on the research of relevant literatures,broadband dual-polarized magneto-electric dipole antenna was studied.The innovation of the thesis is as follows:(1)A loop-shaped broadband dual-polarized ME dipole antenna is designed.By modifying the electric dipole patch and using ?-shaped feeding strip,the antenna achieves a relative operating bandwidth of 58%(SWR ? 1.5)from 1.68GHz to 3.05GHz.In the operating frequency band,the antenna has stable gain,symmetric and unidirectional radiation pattern,low back-lobe radiation and cross-polarization.The antenna can meet the requirements of the second generation,the third generation and the fourth generation base station antennas of mobile communication systems.(2)A novel broadband dual-polarized ME dipole antenna unit is designed.By folding the vertically oriented shorted patch,modifying the electric dipole patch and feeding strip,the proposed antenna achieves an impedance bandwidth of 80%(SWR? 1.5)from 1.68GHz to 3.92GHz.By adding metal fence around the antenna base plate,the gain and radiation pattern of the antenna's high frequency band are effectively improved,making the antenna have a relatively stable gain over the operating frequency band,and symmetric radiation pattern with low back-lobe radiation.The working bands of the antenna mainly covers 2G at 1.8GHz,3G,LTE,5G of 3.3GHz-3.6GHz,and WiMAX at 3.5GHz,and will find many applications in modern communication systems.
