Recently,the mobile communication technology is developed rapidly.As it acts a very important and fundamental role in the nowadays information society,countries in all over the world make much account of the update and widespread popularity of the telecommunication technology.With widespread popularity of the 3rd generation mobile communication technology,the large-scale application of the 4th generation mobile communication technology and the advanced research of the 5th generation mobile communication technology,a wide band antenna which can be compatible with multi-band and multi-mode are given more and more attention.For many special application scenarios,like tunnels and elevators,the traditional Yagi antenna with only 5%factional bandwidth cannot meet the requirements.Meanwhile,as the electric system’s integration getting higher and higher,and the demanding of the public on the aesthetic becoming larger and larger,the antenna is developing towards miniaturization.Therefore,the needs for a wideband high gain compact directional end-fire antenna have been increasingly urgent.When doing the business application signal covering.to make sure the communication with high quality it is often the case to let the gain in the whole band fluctuate slightly.So the gain bandwidth is required strictly.Normally the gain of the antenna is allowed to fluctuate within ldB,which means the working bandwidth is also the 1dB gain bandwidth.According to the above background,a wide band high gain antenna with non-similar director array is proposed in this article,to which a further study and design is attached.Following work is focused on in the paper,a)The concept of the similar director and non-similar director is introduced based on which the non-similar director a wideband high gain directional end-fire antenna is designed.b)The equal radiating model of the flat slot-loop antenna is obtained with the metal rod director being chosen which makes the antenna has a high directing efficiency in wide band.c)The antenna with a flat arranged director is designed which realizes more than 11dBi gain with a 45.45%fractional bandwidth.Also,the 1dBi gain bandwidth is 45.45%.d)By introducing more phase factors,the antenna with a zig-zag arranged director is designed which realizes more than 12dBi gain with a 45.45%fractional bandwidth.Also,the 1dBi gain bandwidth is 45.45%.e)The miniaturization of the directional end-fire antenna is realized.The size of the two antenna proposed in the radiating direction are decreased by 50%and 66.67%separately.The test results show that the wide band high gain directional end-fire antenna with flat arranged director and zig-zag arranged director both can obtain a stable high gain in the antenna’s 45.45%fractional bandwidth,which has practical significance in meeting the nowadays application requirements.
