In the modern wireless communication system,the antenna,as the front end of the transceiver,has an important impact on the performance of the whole system.As the actual application scenes tend to be diverse and complex,fixed beam antennas are often unable to meet the variety of application requirements.This thesis proposes a pattern reconfigurable antenna,the antenna beam range covers the entire sphere,in the face of omni-directional H 360 ° to achieve the pattern reconfiguration.It can be used for WLAN and other applications.The main work of the thesis includes:1)A pattern reconfigurable antenna with conformal array structure is proposed.The omni-directional microstrip array antenna is used as the exciter,the four identical parasitic arrays are evenly distributed on the four azimuth of the exciter with stable mechanical structure.The exciter is separated from the configurable parasitic units.Under the control of the RF switch,the parasitic units can be configured as a director or reflector to achieve the reconfiguration of the pattern;2)A pattern reconfigurable antenna is realized and tested.The PIN diode is used as a radio frequency switch to realize the configuration of the parasitic arrays and control the radiation patterns.The test results show when the PIN diodes switch on or off,the parasitic element arrays can be configured respectively as reflectors or directors.A gain of 8.52 dBi is obtained when the antenna is at the highest directivity state in H-plane at 5.2 GHz,and a bandwidth from 5.10 GHz to 5.27 GHz is achieved.Good agreements between the simulated and measured results are observed.In the 5.2GHz WLAN band,the pattern reconfigurable antenna integrated with an omnidirectional mode and four directional modes,which achieves sixteen beam state in four directions.Compared with the existing results,the antenna has more type of beam.
