With the rapid development of modern scientific technical and communication technology,the research of the antenna technology has become more and more popular.Ultra-wide-band(UWB)antenna has beco??me a popular topic in recent years.As a typical UWB antenna,the Vivaldi antenna has wide bandwidth,what is more,it has the advantages of simple structure,easy processing and has a simple feeding mode.So the Vivald antenna occupying an important component in ultra wideband antenna field.In the research and analysis of this paper,we choose the antipodal Vivaldi antenna as the research object,mainly to design the antenna with smaller size and better performance.Firstly,this paper proposes an antipodal Vivaldi antenna structure,and it is different with the traditional antipodal Vivaldi antenna's structure.This paper design of the antenna the arc gradient line is the arc gradient line,while the traditional antipodal Vivaldi antenna the arc gradient line is exponential curve.Through the simulation and analysis,we discussed the parameters that influence the performance of the improved antipodal Vivaldi antenna in detail.Secondly,in order to improve the performance of the improved antenna,we loaded a director structure on the antenna.After discussing the different structure of the director,we finally determined that the antenna showed good radiation characteristics when the director's structure was triangular.The test results show that,the antenna shows good radiation performance in 3 GHz to 11 GHz frequency band when the triangle director is loaded,which covers the required frequency band of UWB(3.1 GHz 10.6 GHz)technology.Finally,the Vivaldi antenna with loading a triangle director is used as the unit of the array,and designing a set of array antenna.What is more,we improved the feed structure.And we analyzed the effects of the different spacing and the size of the feed microstrip on the performance of the array antenna.The simulation results show that in the 3.1 GHz-10.6 GHz frequency band,the antenna has good directivity and VSWR,which proved the effectiveness of the method.
