With the increase of application requirements and continuous improvement of integration for chip,the performance has been put forward higher requirements.Currently,performance analysis relies on actual test after tape out,this method on the one hand increases the repair cost,on the other hand extends chip development cycle.For the RTL level performance analysis,effective analysis method is in lack.This paper based on RTL level transfer performance,with specific chip performance in actual project needs,to analyze the transfer performance of the chip internal module and developed a visualized tool to forecast transfer performance based on AMBA bus modules.By using a precompiled AHB and AXI bus monitor,we bind the monitor to target module and run testcase,generating performance.log file,and then,use the perl script with specific arithmetic to translate performance.log to performance graphs finally.This tool can one button to generate performance graph with performance.log,adjust step length and find abnormal transmission point.Designers can analyze transmission performance in RTL level more clear and intuitive with this tool.The main results of the research work are as follows:1).The AHB and AXI bus data monitors were prepared and verified using System Verilog.The monitor introduces monitoring enable signals,supports the output and printing of different bus performance information,and finally generates performance.log file.2).Using the Perl script,the resulting performance.log file is processed by equal step algorithm,and automatic generation of the RTL-level transmission performance image is completed on the basis of setting the step parameters.3).Using Perl / Tk module to complete the program graphical GUI development,complete one button to generate performance transmission image,modify the step size parameters in GUI,display the total bandwidth transmission information and other functions.Through a study case of PCIE module access the data we verify the tool to calculate the total bandwidth of the transmission and design indicator close to the entire transmission result.The tool has been used in the author's internship company.
