The calibration,research and development and testing of the electric field sensor can not be separated from uniform electric field.Therefore,the research of the method of producing uniform electric field has important theoretical significance and practical value for the design of electric field sensor.Based on the calibration requirement of 1MHz~18GHz broadband electric field sensor,this paper combines the theory of electromagnetic wave propagatio n.A simulation model of uniform electric field which is generated by parallel double transmission line and double ridged horn antenna is established by the software HFSS.The simulation results are analyzed,and the electric field distribution characteris tics in 1MHz~18GHz band are obtained.In order to obtain good electric field distribution uniformity,through optimization analysis,the parallel double transmission line with a length of 750 mm and a diameter of 9mm and a spacing of 92.75 mm are selected as the emission source for producing uniform electric field.The electric field distribution of parallel double transmission line at 1MHz,10 MHz,100MHz and 500 MHz frequency points is simulated.The electric field distribution characteristics of pyramidal horn and double ridged horn antenna in wide frequency band are studied,the feasibility of producing uniform electric field by two horn antennas is proved.The electric field distribution at the 1.8GHz,5GHz and 16 GHz frequency points of the double ridged horn antenna is simulated.A region with uniform electric field distribution is obtained.An experimental platform was built and measured with a standard electric field sensor EP183.Simulation and experimental results show that the three antennas can generate uniform electric field in 1MHz~18GHz frequency band.The uniform electric field can be applied to the calibration of an electric field sensor.
