ICT Based Dissemination Of Agricultural Science And Technology Information

The dissemination of agricultural science and technology information is one of the keys to solve the problem of "agriculture,countryside and farmers".Under the circumstance of limited resources,technology and information become the dominant factor in the development of agriculture industry.Therefore the development of modern agriculture calls urgently for a smooth flow of information channels between farmers and agricultural experts,between farmers and the market.between farmers and the government so that relevant information can be transited to farmers in a timely,accurate and convenient manner.However,for a long time,the domestic agricultural information dissemination mainly adopts face-to-face communication,on-spot education and training and other forms of interpersonal communication.This form of agricultural extension is very demanding in term of manpower.Worse still,it has the disadvantages like low efficiency,limited audience,lack of feedback,thus greatly limiting the scale and effect of dissemination of agriculture science and technologies.With the development of ICT technology,it has opened up new channels for agricultural information dissemination.Information and communication technology(ICT)possesses unique advantages such as promptness,large capacity,interactive and efficient and other,thus providing agricultural science and technology information dissemination with new opportunities and motivation.Nevertheless the communication based on ICT requires infrastructure.Consequently,the cost is higher.Given the facts that the agricultural information sources from internet is scattered and the updates of it is insufficient,ICT-based agricultural science and technology information dissemination effect is still very limited plus the facts that the communicator has the limited knowledge and capacity about ICT skills due to insufficient education.How to make full use of the advantages of ICT technology and construct the efficient,fast and convenient means of communication of agricultural science and technology based on ICT is an urgent question that needs to be solved with no delay in the current agricultural science and technology information dissemination.In order to grasp the status quo of ICT-based agricultural science and technology information in China and to understand better the application and influencing factors of agricultural science and technology information based on ICT,this paper takes Lin'an City as an example and endeavors to investigates the current situation of agricultural science and technology information dissemination based on ICT by researching the status and effect of on ICT hardware facilities,agricultural websites,farmers mailboxes,agricultural We Chat,agricultural science and technology TV channels and others within the scope of Lin'an city.The study found that,with the development of ICT technology,satellite broadcasting,cable television,mobile communication and computer network based on ICT technology have become an important channel for the local farmers to disseminate information.It has become a common practice for local Farmers to use ICT technology to obtain and publish information.At the same time,it is found that mobile phone,network and traditional face-to-face communication and training are the main channels for farmers to obtain agricultural information and the farmers' access to agricultural information and acceptance of agricultural information ICT tools have a certain tendency.Gender,age,income level and other farmers choose to use different ICT tools have a certain impact on farmer's adoption of ICT tools for agriculture science and technology information.The conducted survey also found that despite the unique advantages of ICT technology in agriculture information dissemination,there are still some existing technical problems.In order to make better use of ICT technology to enhance agriculture information dissemination,it is proposed to increase government support and propaganda,enhance the application of ICT technology,enhance thequality of agricultural extension workers and audiences,promote the establishment of information platform with a view to facilitate agricultural information dissemination,information sharing,and big data analysis.
