In recent years, with the rapid development of Internet of things technology. As the Internet of things sensing layer support technology, wireless sensor networks(Wireless Sensor Networks,WSN)technology has now been widely used in car networking, smart city, smart home, intelligent agriculture, atmospheric environmental monitoring, power monitoring, intelligent factories, intelligent manufacturing, military and other fields. The wireless sensor network is composed of a number of wireless sensor nodes which arranged in the detection area.Wireless sensor nodes can do data collection, data acceptance data forwarding and processing to achieve the purpose of collaborative detection of regional dynamics. The medium access control(MAC)protocol determines how the wireless channel is used and controls all access to the physical layer.A good MAC protocol can optimize network throughput, improve bandwidth utilization, reduce energy loss, reduce time delay, etc.,so in the field of wireless sensor networks MAC protocol design is essential. As the wireless sensor network nodes' battery can not be disassembled,so the energy is limited, the traditional wireless MAC protocol can not meet the new requirements of the new period,so the design of a highly efficient energy-saving wireless sensor network MAC protocol has become an urgent problem to be solved.Based on the traditional S-MAC protocol, this paper proposed two adaptive energy-saving MAC protocols : TXSMAC and QDSMAC.These two protocols apply to different scenarios.TXSMAC protocol apply to the low bandwidth, low time latency scene. The TXSMAC protocol optimizes the radio channel backoff mechanism and the fixed duty cycle, enabling the network to adaptively detect traffic changes in the area, automatically adjust the work and sleep state, and adapt energy savings.QDSMAC apply to the time latency relatively high scene.Firstly, the concept of buffer queue delay is proposed, which is used to detect the network load.Based on the result of this test, the duty cycle of the node listening / hibernation and the synchronization control information are changed to adapt the network traffic to the adaptive energy-savingIn the Linux system,we use the NS2 software platform to simulate the two MAC protocols. After optimization,we can see that in the energy efficiency, delay, throughput and other performance indicators, the optimized MAC protocol than the original SMAC protocol in the wireless sensor network In the more superior.Especially in energy saving, the effect is more prominent.
