Research On Gatekeeping Mechanism In UGC Media Platform

The development of Internet technology has greatly changed the way of dissemination of social information,and the Internet platform has become the main channel for public access to information.The openness of the network gives the audience greater rights in the choice of information,and it also gives the audience the right to disseminate information.Traditional media have stricter control over information,and the audience accepts filtered information.However,in the age of network information,the diversity of information sources makes it difficult to achieve traditional gatekeeping goals,and the audience has the ability to disseminate information,the effect of gatekeeping is gradually weakening,which has also triggered a series of social problems.This study samples,classifies,and analyzes the contents of the platform,discovers the content structure of the UGC media platform,analyzes the causes,and reveals the role of the gatekeeping mechanism.Also using comparative study,select content samples from professional media for analysis,and compare the differences between the comparative items.Then,based on the problems that emerged in the UGC media platform,combined with the media environment in the era of network information and the practices of professional media,eventually formed a multi-layered and in-depth gatekeeping mechanism which included government macro control,media organization supervision,and personal self-discipline.
