In recent years,with the rapid development of related technologies in the field of video surveillance,video surveillance systems are becoming more and more popular in people’s lives.Video surveillance system slowly come from the public place to a relatively private place,which requires video surveillance equipment to become more compact,cheap and easy to install.This article designed a small size,cheap and based on WiFi network transmission video surveillance system.Firstly,The paper reviews the history about the field of video surveillance,and analyzes the existing problems in the field of video surveillance.Based on the existing problems and the development trend of video surveillance system,paper designs a WiFi transmission based on the ARM platform,use the Linux kernel as the core of the software embedded monitoring system.The system uses Freund’s OK6410 development board as the entire hardware system of development platform,around the development board paper build peripheral video acquisition(ZC301 camera)、wireless transmission(USB wireless card)and other equipment,which will form a complete set of the video surveillance hardware system.Based on the hardware system,the paper set up an embedded software development environment,at the same time designed the application of the module.Firstly,we installed the RedHat operating system;followed by a cross-compiler environment;finally produced and transplanted U-boot,Linux kernel,yaffs root file system to the hardware system.Based on the V4L2 design of the image acquisition module;and then the collected images based on the JPEG algorithm compression processing;followed by TCP / IP protocol based on the socket technology for the implementation of the system,image transmission;Finally build Web server,designed and implemented based on C / S and B / S under the client’s video display.Through the continuous testing of the monitoring system designed by the paper,the final result shows that the system can clearly transmit the video image in B / S and C / S mode,and the performance is stable.The system can meet the needs of personal video surveillance under normal circumstances.
