The television media is a witness to the reform and development of contemporary China,and the recorder is also a builder and participant of socialism with Chinese characteristics.With the development of economy,today's television media has changed people's way of life and way of thinking to a certain extent.It has also directly affected the formation of people's moral values,values,aesthetics,and outlook on life.The research object of this paper is the social responsibility of television media.It can be divided into five aspects: political responsibility,moral responsibility,legal responsibility,economic responsibility and social and cultural responsibility.Conscientiously fulfilling social responsibilities is the most basic requirement for television media.At present,most of the television media in China are able to better fulfill their due social responsibilities.The mainstream is good.It mainly manifests itself in: guiding the correct moral values,better disseminating China's fine traditional culture,and increasing the number of vulnerable groups.Attention,pay more attention to people's spiritual world.With the deepening of the marketization and commercialization of the media in China,there are also many social responsibility deficiencies in the television media.For example,four prominent issues,such as paid news,false reports,bad advertisements,and vulgar winds,were called “four major public hazards” by the media.The homogenization of programs and the phenomenon of“ethical bottomlessness” occur from time to time.The foundation of television media is to fulfill its social responsibilities.Eliminating the deficiencies in television media requires strengthening the moral self-discipline of television media,establishing and improving relevant laws and regulations,establishing an ethical commentary organization for TV media,and strengthening government supervision,industry monitoring,and audience supervision.In the dissemination activities,television media must promote social justice,promote social harmony,and promote social progress as the guardian of social conscience;TV media practitioners should consciously abide by social ethics,professional ethics,and TV station rules and regulations,within the scope permitted by law.To exercise their right to speak and bear legal consequences for their own violations.Therefore,the television media can only ensure the country ' s interests and promote the prosperity of cultural undertakings only if it can effectively shoulder its social responsibilities.
