Communication tower is a kind of high-rise structure,which has the characteristics of flexibility and wind sensitivity.The communication tower under strong wind loads would vibrate and even collapse.To ensure the safety of communication tower,it important to study the collapse failure mechanism of communication tower under wind load.In this paper,a typical communication tower is selected.A finite element model of the communication tower is established,and the wind load time history is generated.The collapse failure of the communication tower is investigated,and the results are compared with the actual communication tower collapse.The main research contents include the following parts:(1)Based on the ABAQUS finite software,the three-dimensional finite element model of the communication tower are created using beam element,and the dynamic characteristics of the communication tower is analyzed,and the results are compare with the dynamic characteristics using the SAP2000 finite software.(2)According to the characteristics of the communication tower,the logarithmic wind profile is used to simulate mean wind,and the Kaimal spectrum is used to simulate fluctuating wind,and the communication tower is divided.Based on harmony superposition method,the time history curve of wind load applied to communication tower is simulated,and the rationality of simulated wind load is verified.(3)Based on Tian-Ma-Qu constitutive model,the collapse failures of communication tower under the wind attack angle with 0,15,30 and 45 are studied,and the collapse process of the tower under different wind attack angles are analyzed.The collapse path,the critical collapse wind speed and collapse position are summarized,and the critical wind attack angle and weak position are obtained.The failure mechanism of communication tower is further summarized.(4)The actual collapse and collapse simulation of the communication tower are compared,and the correctness of the constitutive model is verified.By comparing the position and path of the collapse,the results can provide reference for the design of this tower type and the reinforcement of the existing iron tower.
