Radar firstly appeared in the early 20th century, its basic function is to discover target using goals of the electromagnetic wave scattering, and determine the spatial location of goals. Vehicle radar is an important ground-based radar, which widely used in national defense and military objectives on the flight detection. Wind load and inertia load are the main factors that affecting mobility and stability-board for vehicle radar. Therefore, when designing structure of the vehicle radar antenna and researching of the stability, we must consider the characteristics of wind load and inertia load.Firstly, this paper analyses the domestic history and status of the radar antenna in domestic and foreign, and research the basic characteristics of wind load for the radar antenna. Also this paper analyses and simulates the influence of the wind load to it based on the basic characteristics of wind analysis and discussion. In addition, this paper also simulates inertial load on the vehicle radar antenna.Secondly, this paper establishes a three-dimensional model of vehicle radar antenna, targeting a radar antenna. Then this paper discusses mesh simplification principles and principles of ANSYS software for finite element analysis, and basis on it, using ANSYS 10.0 to proceeding finite element analysis for the wind load and inertia load on-board radar antenna. Finally, this paper creates a mathematical model and the finite element model of the radar antenna based on random vibration theories, and researches vibration characteristics of the vehicle radar antenna, and analyses random vibration response. The result has certain significance for optimum design of the radar antenna.
