Motto magazines is an abstracts periodicals for teenagers published by the Heilongjiang Publishing Group in 2003,from the beginning of the publishmengt,the development momentum is very strong,founded just five years,monthly sales exceeded 1 million copies,over the years,Motto formed its original characteristics in the column content,theme selection,format design,branding and so on,it also became a dark horse in the brand periodical market.According to the strong rise of Motto,this paper's aim is to study the journal characteristics of Motto.It chose about 70 Motto magazines of 2014,2015 and 2016 as the sample to study intensively,the Motto magazines of these three years not only have stable and mature style,but also represent its latest trend of development.This paper's aim is to get the basic analysis methods to study the magazines,analyse the journal characteristics and the insufficient in development of Motto magazines,make a comparative analysis to other similar magazines.This paper researched the journal characteristics of Motto magazines by using the method of literature survey,comparative analysis,statistical analysis and the combination of normative analysis and empirical analysis,analysed Motto's 17 journal characteristics of column content,theme selection,format design,branding and so on,researched the value that is worth learning,through the comparison with other abstracts periodicals such as Yilin magazines,Reader magazines and Youth Digest magazines,analysed the problems in marketing strategies and digital transformation,and offered some operable suggestions according to the outstanding problems of Motto at present,analysed the development strategy of Motto magazines.
