The Research Of Nanjing UNICOM Local Soft-switching Network Transformation Projects

With the growth of the telecommunications business and the gradual integrating of the networks,more and more tele-operations business and equipment manufacturers to recognize the importance of carrying voice,video and data on a unified public packet network.The next generation network is the collection of voice,video and data,via the separation between call controlling and the load bearing.The next generation network has realized the open stratification structure,network units of various levels exchange with the standard agreement,smoothly realizes evolution from the traditional electric circuit exchange to the IP package exchange.Soft-switching technology emerges under the intense demands of next generation network construction,it is the essential technology for the next generation network system structure.The basic idea of SoftSwitch is that it separates the functions of call connecting,operational control and user management from the delivery of streaming media,so as to be an effective way of integration for telecommunications networks and computer networks.At present the local network operator is faced with both the shrinking of original volume of business and the development of new business.In such circumstances,exploiting soft-switching function of the existing telecommunication networks,using soft-switching platform to support open interface functions and develop new business in line with market demands are proposed and studied.The paper described the principles and characteristics of soft-switching,including the definition of soft-switching,the overall structure,and soft-switching involved in the major agreements and its standard,as well as soft-switch technology at this stage applications.Then,according to the technical characteristics of soft-switching,combined with the actual situation of the local network of Nanjing CNC,the feasibility and necessity of transformation of China Unicom of Nanjing softswitching local network are discussed and analyzed,from aspects of the flexibility,efficiency,reliability,etc..Based on the different stages of the transformation of local China Unicom of Nanjing Network,the corresponding design schemes are proposed.Through the research and comparison of these different kinds of reconstruct projects,the results of local network Soft Switch feasibility analysis is achieved,and the expected effects are confirmed via the actual applications in China Unicom of Nanjing.Soft-switching network transformation not only optimizes the existing network structure,but also provides enterprises with new business that more in line with market demands,so as to improve the enterprise's market competitiveness and market share.
