Since the traditional Public Switched Telephone Network(PSTN)Network can't satisfy with the increasing demand,its evolvement into Next Generation Network(NGN)based on the Softswitch technology is well underway.NGN Network has considerable merits,such as its diversity in service supply and flexible networking and cost.The new generation of Network platform based on Softswitch has gotten much attention from international telecom operators in trial or business.It is the suitable time to start on a large-scale trial of Softswitch,even its adoption.Based on the Softswitch network construction project of Chengdu Unicom,this dissertation investigates Softswitch networking technology to design Chengdu Unicom network to meet the local needs,and also introduces the whole process of designing and construction of Softswitch Network of Chengdu Unicom.The main content includes the following:1. Introducing the background of the project of Softswitch Network construction of Chengdu Unicom.The situation of the existing PSTN network is introduced,as well as,its problem is analyzed.Compared with several technologies,the thesis gets the conclusion that softswitch is the good choice and the trend of PSTN.2. Investigating the networking technology of Chengdu Unicom Softswitch Network.The traditional PSTN can be replaced by the introduction of Softswitch in the convergence layer.In addition to supplying the service of Softswitch,this scheme can also assure the continuity of PSTN transits in the future.3. Researching the establishment of the network project.The detail establishment solution of Softswitch equipments,Signalling Gateway,Access Gateway and Application Servers are introduced and the requirement of supporting network and maintenance is put forward.4.Proposing the further goal of next-step network construction.
