WeChat Moments,as a social function of WeChat,has gradually replaced the Weibo and become the most popular virtual community at present.With its unique way of communication,the WeChat Moments reflects social values.And therefore people's way of life has some changes corresponding to this trend.Joshua Meyrowitz's media situation theory properly combines Mc Luhan's theory of media technology with Goffman's drama theory,using the "Media-Situation-Behavior" research ideas to analyze the impact of people's social behavior and lifestyle that the electronic media has brought to people.However,as the media situation theory originated in the 1980 s when the Internet technology just started to develop,its impact to people's social roles and social behavior is minimal.So Meyrowitz in his master work No Sense of Place: The Impact of Electronic Media on Social Behavior mainly analyzed the two most influential media--radio and television.However with the rise of Internet technology,the impact of WeChat Moments,as a representative of a number of new media has gradually emerged.If we still analyze WeChat Moments in accordance with the media situation theory in some of the original concept,it appears outdated,so we need to contact the actual situation of the media development,and appropriately convert some relevant concepts,so that it applies to the current media concept.Thus we can make a fresh discussion of the media situation theory and analyze some changes caused by the WeChat Moments combining with the reality.This study attempts to combine the WeChat Moments with the media situation theory,and treats the WeChat Moments as a new situation from the sociological point of view.Through the virtual ethnography method to obtain the relevant text information,this paper tries to find the user's role and social behavior changes made by this situation from the perspective of communication combining with the depth of the interview method.The article first analyzes the various microcosmic situations formed in the WeChat Moments: private situation,semi-open situation and open situation,and also the new information sharing rules in these situations.Secondly,the paper analyzes roles of the original real life are partly deconstructed in the situation of the WeChat Moments,and new roles of the user is formed on this basis.Finally,the paper discusses the changes of behavior made by the WeChat Moments,which can also peep at these natural changes of the media itself.The purpose of the paper is to reveal every user of media,as the communicator and receiver of the information,that we must rethink the interactive relation between media and human.
