With the extension of human detection,the acquisition,storage,processing and transmission of information had deepened into all aspects of social live.Wireless sensor network(WSN)arises integrating from sensor technology,micro-electro-mechanical systems technology,wireless communication technology,distributed information processing technology and other cutting-edge technology,which made WSN a most focused topic of the future information technology.WSN has the characteristics of small volume,low cost,distribution and has been wildly used in the fields of military,industry,and agriculture,medical and smart grids.Applying WSN into the monitoring of temperature and current for key power lines can ensure the safety of lines.In the first part of the paper,the requirements analysis of WSN and the choosing of wireless data transmission protocol had been finished.After the analysis of ZigBee protocol,the ZigBee tree-routing was chosen for forming the WSN with the modifying of the protocol.According to the problem of system power consumption,in this paper,two means were sited: one was to choose low power consumption devices;the other was to optimize the protocol stack including restriction on data transmission times in the network and data fusion.Selecting ZICM2410 ZigBee module as the control chip for the nodes and establishing a self-powered WSN system with tree network topology and presents the mechanism of data errors and secondary retransmission.In the WSN,three kinds of node exist,that is end node,relay node and master node.The self-powered power which designed by the former researchers in the same lab powered the end node.Comparing with the traditional end node which powered by battery the new end node reduce the daily maintenance workload,and improve the reliability and stability of the system.The performance test of the WSN indicates that: the system can realize the monitoring of temperature and current of the power lines,a good control of power consumption of the end node,and with high reliability and stability.
